NFL Midseason Awards

With the NFL regular season just over halfway done, it's time to give out my midseason awards. We will start with comeback player of the year and end with MVP. Here are my midseason awards.

Comeback Player of the Year: Geno Smith

Geno Smith has been absolutely electric this season. He has the highest completion percentage in the league and ranks third in QBR. He ranks 6th in total passing yards, with just under 1,200 yards. With many people writing him off before the season, Geno Smith is my pick for Comeback Player of the Year.

Runner Up: Saquon Barkley

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Dameon Pierce

Dameon Pierce has definitely been a surprise this year. Drafted in the 4th round, he was not expected to lead the way among rookie RB's. He currently ranks 6th in the league in rushing yards and he has been absolutely dominant. Though, if Kenneth Walker keeps up his production, he could easily catch up and win this award.

Runner Up: Chris Olave, Kenneth Walker

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Tariq Woolen

It's a close one here between Tariq Woolen and Sauce Gardner, but to me, Tariq Woolen is the choice. Woolen is currently tied for second in the league with 4 interceptions and is tied for 9th in pass deflections. Over the past few weeks, Quarterbacks have stopped even looking his way. This week against the Cardinals, Woolen shut down Deandre Hopkins. Although the race is close between Sauce and Woolen, I feel like Woolen has the slight edge as of now.

Runner Up: Sauce Gardner

Offensive Player Of the Year: Tyreek Hill

This one is not really a huge debate. Tyreek Hill has been off to a monster start with Miami. He leads the league in receiving yards, and it's not even close. He is the only receiver over 1,000 yards as of now. If he keeps this up, he is the clear choice for Offensive Player Of The Year.

Runner Up: Nick Chubb

Defensive Player Of the Year: Micah Parsons

Micah Parsons has been a huge difference maker for the Dallas Cowboys. He leads the league in pressures with 36 and is 5th in the league with 8 sacks. To add on to this, he also 2 forced fumbles. If Parsons can keep this up, he will be the clear pick for Defensive Player of The Year.

Runner Up: Nick Bosa

Coach Of The Year: Brian Daboll

The Giants have been a huge surprise this year. Going 6-2, they are a playoff team that nobody expected. Did they sign any crazy superstars this offseason? No. Did they make any blockbuster trades? No. So what did they do? They hired Brian Daboll as their head coach. Daboll has completely turned this organization around from a team who struggles to get 5 wins, to a team who could make a legitamate playoff push. If the Giants keep up this success, Daboll should win Coach of the Year.

Runner Up: Robert Saleh, Pete Carroll

Most Valuable Player: Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts. Who would've expected this? MVP is a very close race and the top three as of now are Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and my pick, Jalen Hurts. You can't go wrong with any of these three, but to me, Jalen Hurts is ahead of both of them. This is for one reason and one reason only. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are undefeated. If you look at the stats, all three of these players are neck and neck. So, the reason I am picking Hurts is simply because he hasn't lost a game yet.
