With the NFL Season just a few days away, it is time for me to finalize my award predictions. I will start with the ROTY awards, then move up and eventually end with MVP.
For OROTY, I have Garrett Wilson. I think Garrett Wilson will have a fantastic year. The Jets are in need of an elite wide receiver, and I think Garrett Wilson will fill this role and finish as the Jets WR1.
For DROTY, I have the second overall pick, Aidan Hutchinson. The Lions have a lack of talent on the defensive side of the ball. Last season, they ranked 31st in sacks per game. The spot is open for Aidan Hutchinson, and if he can prove how lethal of a weapon he is, he will definitely win Defensive Rookie Of The Year.
For OPOY, I have Justin Jefferson. I don’t have much to say here. Justin Jefferson is a proven top 5 wide receiver, and you can only expect his numbers to go up. When asked, Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said, “Our offensive style, it's not a run-first offense anymore.” What does this mean for Justin Jefferson? This means he will get significantly more targets than last year and be the clear favorite for OPOY.
For DPOY, I have Micah Parsons. This man is a straight up powerhouse. As a rookie, he broke many records, and was the clear winner for DROTY. He also made the All-Pro first team in his first year! I expect Micah Parsons to repeat this amount of success and end up winning DPOY.
For CPOY, I have Saquon Barkley. Saquon Barkley has not been a great RB since his rookie season. He has been very injury prone, and has not been able to have a good, healthy season. But, this season will be very different. Saquon is finally healthy and completely ready to go. I expect him to finish top 10 in receiving/rushing yards among RB’s, and win Comeback Player Of The Year.
For COTY, I have John Harbaugh. I expect the Ravens to have a phenomenal year, especially now that they are healthy. A lot of this Ravens success will come from the play calling of John Harbaugh, and he is my pick to win Coach Of The Year.
For MVP, I have none other than back to back MVP, Aaron Rodgers. This year, Rodgers has a lot to prove. If Rodgers can end up leading the Packers to a top 3 seed in the NFC, especially with the lack of receiving talent, then he should undoubtedly be the MVP.
