With just one week left to go in the regular season, there are still many uncertainties revolving around the NFL playoffs. Week 18 will be a highly competitive week and should be filled with many close games and upsets. If things play out a certain way in Week 18, we could have one the best Wild Card Weekends of all time. Here's why:
Let's start in the NFC. Here are the standings that would produce the most competitive and interesting games: 1. 49ers
2. Eagles
3. Lions
4. Buccaneers
5. Cowboys
6. Rams
7. Seahawks
In the AFC, here are the standings that would produce the most competitive and interesting games:
1.Ravens
2.Dolphins
3.Chiefs
4. Jaguars
5.Browns
6. Bills
7.Texans
Both of these standings are completely possible in each conference. Now, let's take a look at each of the matchups.
2. Dolphins v 7. Texans
The first matchup in the AFC would be the Dolphins and the Texans. This would be a battle of two young teams who have both had some ups and downs through the season. This would be a highly competitive game and the Dolphins could potentially be on upset alert.
3. Chiefs v 6. Bills
Could we even ask for a better matchup in the Wild Card round? A struggling Chiefs team playing a very hot Bills team in a rematch of the AFC Divisional Round two years ago. This will be a game played with lots of passion, emotion, and aggression and the Chiefs should definitely watch out for an early exit.
4. Jaguars v 5. Browns
In the last AFC Matchup of Wild Card Weekend, Joe Flacco and the Browns take on a struggling Jaguars team. We were treated to a game between these two earlier in the season, and the Browns narrowly escaped with the win. Will Joe Flacco perform in the playoffs? Will Lawrence and the Jags turn it around? This game would be played with lots of fire and it would be a great game to watch.
2. Eagles v 7. Seahawks
The first matchup in the NFC Wild Card Round would be the Eagles and Seahawks. This would be a highly competitive game that could honestly go either way. The Seahawks pulled off a major upset earlier in the year, but the playoffs are a whole different story. Can the Seahawks do it again? Or will the Eagles come out on top?
3. Lions v 6. Rams
This would be an absolute cinema. Matthew Stafford returns to Detroit for a playoff game. Both Goff and Stafford would be at their best game, and both fanbases would be going crazy. This would be a highly competitive game that could go either way.
4. Buccaneers v 5. Cowboys
The last matchup of Wild Card Weekend would be the Bucs and the Cowboys. This game would be a fun one. Both Dak and Baker get constantly hated on by the media, and one of the two will turn heads by getting a playoff win. Can Baker shock the world? Will Dak perform? Only this playoff game will tell us.
If things go right in Week 18, we could be treated to the single greatest weekend of football-ever.
