Just a few days ago, CJ Stroud was projected to be a Top 3 pick. Now, some analysts have him outside the top 10. Why is this? This happened because of the Cognitive Test. Bryce Young scored a 98%, Will Levis scored a 93%, Anthony Richardson scored a 79% , and C.J. Stroud scored a 18%.
What is the S2 Cognitive Test?
The S2 cognitive test has 9 different sections, and they are each graded seperately. It tests the Quarterback's perception speed, search efficiency, tracking capacity, visual learning, instinctive learning, decision complexity, distraction control, impulse control, and improvisation. It is taken on a Computer , and it takes 45 minutes.
Now, obviously, scoring low on the cognitive test does not make you a bad athlete. But, it does reveal some strengths or weaknesses college prospects have. So, should we buy into CJ Stroud's decreasing Draft Stock due to this test?
Here's my simple answer: No, we shouldn't.
If Stroud was truly this bad cognitively, we would see it on the field. Stroud has shown how good of a player he is, and a cognitive test shouldn't have teams steer away from him. If I'm the Panthers, I am taking C.J. Stroud at #1.
